Shortage design

Candidates must hold a limited certificate and earn at least one endorsement in a state-defined subject or geographic shortage area (https://www.pesb.wa.gov/workforce/educator-shortage). PESB provides a quantitative definition and identifies statewide and regional shortages, as well as a qualitative definition that allows for a process to designate local shortages.

Credential issued

Route 4 candidates must hold a limited certificate at the time of enrollment in the program. Candidates earn a Washington State Residency certificate upon completion of the program.

b. Must be employed with the district at the time of application.
